Katie Clark is a driven and passionate sport psychologist committed to assisting athletes in developing crucial psychological skills to navigate the demands of their respective sports. Currently enrolled in the BASES Sport and Exercise Psychology Accreditation Route (SEPAR), Katie is actively working towards becoming HCPC accredited, demonstrating her dedication to professional growth.
Throughout her academic journey, Katie conducted extensive research exploring various facets of sport psychology. During her undergraduate years at Coventry University and postgraduate studies at Staffordshire University, her research delved into areas such as athletic identity, injury, and athlete well-being. This exploration provided her with a profound understanding of the intricate relationships between these factors and their impact on an athlete's overall performance.

Currently, Katie works at Stoke City FC across the academy and women's first team, where she provides invaluable support to players, coaches, and other stakeholders. Her previous experiences include shadowing gymnast coaches and supporting young squad-level gymnasts. Additionally, she serves as a visiting lecturer at Coventry University, contributing to workshops, practical sessions, and assignment marking within sport psychology and sport coaching courses.
Katie Clark looks forward to further developing as an applied practitioner and establishing connections within the sports community.

In her recent postgraduate research project, Katie investigated 'The Effectiveness of Imagery Assisted Virtual Reality on Performance and Imagery Ability in a Target Shooting Task.' This endeavour fueled her interest in integrating technology into psychological skills interventions for football players. The promising outcomes suggested that imagery-assisted virtual reality is an effective method for enhancing performance in target shooting tasks while improving imagery ability.
Katie's personal experiences as a former field hockey competitor and participant in gymnastics and dance have equipped her with insights into the unique demands and pressures associated with team sports and individual aesthetic sports. Her diverse interests, including professional sports such as ice hockey, motorsports, American football, rugby, and football, allow her to offer valuable support to athletes from various disciplines.
